Google is rolling out the AI generated round up of complex digital content in India, called Search AI Overviews feature. The technology developed to summarize long tail paragraphs from quality SERPs and presents as a single summary paragraph that gives every user a general idea of what it contains.
First introduced in the U.S., this feature is also being rolled out to Android users in other countries like the UK, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico and Brazil over time starting today (and yes available with local languages including Hindi).
According to Google, AI Overviews have motivated users into going deeper in search results and visiting a wider variety of sites. There is more, for India there is the new English-Hindi language toggle and text-to-speech functionality. Feedback to refine the AI Overviews service is intended and a work in progress for Google as they aim at making searches more efficient and qualitative.
